We've been super busy the past few weeks, and I haven't taken my camera with me anywhere, so I don't have any pics to post with this, so that totally sucks.
Last weekend we went to Tennessee for our friend Jaren's high school graduation. They had it out on their football field, it was pretty cool I suppose.
This coming Saturday Donnie is going to Winson Salem to see his friends fight in another MMA event. I want to go, but somebody's got to stay here with the girls. It sucks that we don't know anyone here, or I would leave them with a babysitter.
Ummm, Donnie's motorcycle broke down today. It's only a year old, so I guess we have to take it to the Kawasaki dealership tomorrow. O-ya, that reminds me! Donnie is on the 5 pm to 1 am shift at work for the next few months. It works out really great because this way we get to spend the whole day with him. His job is to basically manage the ammo for his unit that is stationed in Kuwait...and since they are 12 hours ahead, he has to be there at night.
What else? I bought me and the girls plane tickets for Utah the other day. We are flying out there July 1st and staying until the 22nd of August! I know, it's forever. We were going to come home the end of July, but Donnie decided he wants to go out for the bow hunt, and that starts August 16th, so there's no point in coming home just to turn around and head back out, right? I'm really excited. We haven't been there for a year. This is the longest I've ever been away from home. We tried to get tickets for Stadium of Fire, but of course they are all sold out. Marlys LOVES Hannah Montana, and she would have had so much fun! Oh well.
Me and Donnie paid off another debt today. Dave Ramsey is totally rocking my world right about now. The debt snowball system works! We will have our house in Texas paid for in 2013...that's only 5 years from now people! That's our last debt to pay off. It'll be a good day. We've been thinking about buying another home here in North Carolina. The one in Texas has been a pretty good investment. Our renters pay $1195/month. In 5 years, they'll probably be paying around $1300/month...and it'll be straight profit for us.
So that was pretty much my longest post ever. I feel so accomplished!

Pretty Little Thelma
I got my camera out this morning to charge it and Thelma saw it and got right up on the chair and posed for me. She's already huge...and she still has 6 months more growing to do!

East Tennessee MMA
Saturday night we went to the MMA (think UFC) fights in Weber City, VA. Some of Donnie's best friends were fighting and they all won! :) His best friend since his childhood, Richard K., was in the main event and wore the other guy out! His other friend, Richard F., also won and this video is of his awesome finish. If you haven't been to one of these fights live, you have to go, it's so much better in person!

I repeat...I am NOT Martha Stewart
So I decided to try my hand at sewing again last night. I saw some cute pillowcase dresses on etsy and thought to myself, "holy crap, self, I can do that!". 5...yes 5 hours later, I produced a dress for Mar. If Pam Cottle or Erin or my mother saw it, they'd pass out, as I'm sure it would look like total crap up close to anyone who actually knows how to sew. At one point Donnie said "Is that really how you're supposed to do that?" my reply was "No, shut up and go to bed". It was frustrating to say the least....and it's really not crooked, we just tied the ribbon up tighter on one side...from a distance it actually looks pretty good.

Hallelujah and pass the jelly!
Today, May 13, 2008-- a date which will live in infamy -- Rylee Hurd suddenly and deliberately pee'd in a toilet. Hallelujah and pass the jelly...it's a miracle!

Mother's Day
This was the first year that Mar actually woke me up with my Mother's Day gift. It was so sweet! She was extremely proud of the pots she painted and the flowers she planted. It was a great day!

Janie
I won't be here Sunday, so I'm posting my mother's day tribute today. I have the most wonderful mother in the whole world. Not long after I had Marlys, I got to thinking about how my mom raised me, and how that was the way I wanted to raise my own kids. The only problem, I don't know how my mom did it! Now, we all know I was a total pecker head, I mean, seriously, no need to beat around the bush here. But, all in all, I was a good kid. I never got in to any "real" trouble, and the reason was because whenever I was faced with a decision, I couldn't help but think of how my actions would make my mom feel if she ever found out. THAT is what I don't get. HOW did she get that in to my head? I want my own kids to ponder that question, but I don't remember my mom ever drilling it into us. Anyways, because of my mom...and all her hard work, me and my sisters turned out pretty dang good. Granted, I'm still a pecker head, but I never ended up in the Reaper. :) I Love You Mom!

I'm sitting here all alone and I'm pretty much super bored, so I decided to type an actual blog for my blog, so maybe now it will officially be a blog, eh? Are we trackin'?
Okay, so this blog is about how much I dislike Fayetteville. I dream of my beautiful home in Texas, the one that people I don't even know are renting. While they enjoy it, I sit in this apartment and think of ways I could injure Donnie enough to get him discharged from the military so we can move back to Texas...or Utah, either one will work.
I tried really hard to be upbeat about the move. I acted excited for the girls so it wouldn't be so hard on them. Mar still asks when we get to go back to Texas so she can play with all her friends in the neighborhood. I feel like a creep. This apartment complex is HUGE..and it's right outside the gates of post, and can you believe that there isn't ONE child Marlys' age?
So ya. This place sucks. Marlys will be in a gang by the times she's 5. Go Army!

Wilmington Beach, NC
Our family went to Wilmington on Friday to play on the beach for a while. It was the first time either of the girls had been to a beach. Rylee loved the seagulls, but wasn't too sure about the water. Marlys surprised us all and wasn't really scared at all! The beach is only 108 miles from our house, so I'm sure we'll spend quite a few weekends there.Friday, May 2, 2008
