Before and Afters...

I'm finally getting somewhere! We are getting new countertops in the kitchen, so that will change the look a lot, we are getting hardwood flooring throughout the house too, so I CAN'T WAIT until that is done. I HATE carpet!

Today we decided to paint pumpkins! I never painted pumpkins as a child, but my mother obviously didn't worry about me cutting a finger off, either. Can you imagine if I tried to carve a pumpkin with the girls? I can see it now: Marlys: "Mom, here, give me the knife, let me try" Me: "No way" (as she reaches for it) Rylee: "NO! My turn!" (as she grabs it) Me: "AGHHHH!" (as knife pentrates my eyeball). Not fun. That's why we opted for paint.

2nd Annual Turkey Bowl

So it's time once again to start organizing our Turkey Bowl. We started this last year, and it was SO fun! Since we're so close to Tennessee, we'll be having it there this year. We've invited about 50 people. We've decided to throw in a chili cook off. Donnie wants to buy a championship belt even (I think he thinks he'll win). If anyone would like to fly out, by all means, do it! Here's some pics of the 1st Annual Turkey Bowl in Killeen.

Another room updated...

We have a mystery room in our house. I know it was supposed to be the dining room, but that makes no sense because there is a huge eating area attatched to the kitchen...and this room has carpet. SO, I decided to make it my reading/entry/patriotic room. Here's the before and after:


The light they had in this room was SO ugly. We actually had to replace every light in the entire house.

The "H" wall isn't finished. I have a bunch of H's still in Utah that will be on here. Oh, and the lovely cereal bowls with batting and miniature pumpkins are something Mar came up with last night to use as "Christmas Decorations".
