What a Guy!

My little Donnie came home for the weekend! He got here on Saturday and got to stay until 6 am Monday. It was so nice to have him in our house! Donnie loves to cook, and it's a good thing, because I do not. He's an excellent cook though, and he's always making up good stuff to eat! Isn't that a cute apron?

He made this little recipe up a couple months ago when we had a lot of deer meat and didn't know what to do with it. We don't have any more deer meat, so he made this with steak.
It's super good....WAY good, so you might want to try it for yourself. He gets fresh jalapeno's and cuts them in half. You have to take out all the seeds so they aren't too hot to enjoy.
After you get them all cleaned out you squish cream cheese in the middle of each one and put a strip of meat down the middle. Then you take a full piece of bacon and wrap around it a few times. Secure it with a toothpick and stick them on the grill until the bacon is cooked.
I didn't get a shot of them after we cooked them because we ate them before I thought about it. They are delish though, seriously...amazing.
See? They even make Thelma drool.

I'm so ungrateful!

I totally forgot to post about what Donnie got me for Christmas. I wear it every day, so it's not like I don't LOVE it, I just didn't post about it. He surprised me on Christmas morning with this little beauty. He's such a man. I heart him. I hadn't even heard of the Open Hearts by Jane Seymour, but apparently they were all the rage this year. I wore mine when I went to get my hair cut a few days after Christmas and the lady said that she wanted one for Christmas but every Kay Jewlers in East Tennessee was sold out weeks before. I love my little Donnie :)

Scratching My Crafty Itch

That almost sounds obscene, doesn't it? Donnie's gone, as you all know, and I ran out of things to do yesterday. How often does that happen? I walked in to the kitchen and got aggravated with that blank wall that's been screaming at me to bedazzle it for quite some time. I came up with this:Those are my cute girls! I was half tempted to do Thelma's silhouette!

Mar got her ears pierced!

Here she is thinking to herself "Do I really want to do this?"

All of a sudden she was happy, which had everything to do with me telling her she could buy some fingernail polish and lip gloss if she was brave

and she's scared again
She didn't move a muscle...

And here she is pissed off, but she didn't cry!

Christmas in Tennessee

We spent Christmas Eve at Jon and Teresa's house. They let us open up our gifts from them that night. We had a big dinner with all of their extended family, it was really nice. We spent that night at Donnie's mom's house and Santa left presents there.

Basically, Rylee is too cool for clothes. She doesn't see a point in wearing them, so 90% of her pictures are in the buff.

Here's the haul Santa left for the girls.
Thelma, after she claimed one of Ry's gifts
Here's Marlys opening up a DVD from Santa
Donnie with his new Affliction beanie that Santa left.

Ry opening up some pajamas...not that she'll wear them or anything though.
