Deep in the heart (clap clap) of Texas, Tx, United States
I am a veteran and the wife of a soldier. Together we have spent our adult lifetime serving our Nation, it's soldiers and families that support it. We have lived all over the country and experienced more then we ever expected. It is a life I love and one that I hold very close to me, but one that is bittersweet, filled with both joy and sacrifice, friendship and loss...but it is never without hope.
Hey Kristi, just wanted to stop by and say Hi! (from the mother huddle) you left the best comments. I especially loved the one on the bullet list, my husband does the same thing before church every single sunday! Gets himself dressed, leaves me to the kids and wonders why we are never on time. I am definitely using your advice 1 love it! Your blog is great, I got teary eyed when I saw the pic of your husband saying good bye to his baby girl, I can't even imagine. bless him, you, and your family. I am so happy he is home. Thanks again for stopping by! Destri
The above picture was taken moments before Donnie's unit left for Iraq in 2004. Marlys was only three months old. To date, that was the hardest day of my life. I stood there and watched them march out the door...making sure that I didn't take my eyes off of him until he was gone. I didn't know if I would ever see him again.

You are so dang funny! I'm so glad that your husband is home. Enjoy your time with him and fix him something better than mac and cheese.
