Donnie left today about 12:30. He will be gone for "no less than 6 months". I guess that's the Army's way of saying "Uhhh, we don't really know". I'm so proud of my little Donnie :) He's our hero.

The above picture was taken moments before Donnie's unit left for Iraq in 2004. Marlys was only three months old. To date, that was the hardest day of my life. I stood there and watched them march out the door...making sure that I didn't take my eyes off of him until he was gone. I didn't know if I would ever see him again.
