Deployment
I don't have any pictures or anything, but our newest FYI is that Donnie deploys the 2nd week of April. We're cool with it, so don't send condolences! Deployments aren't the end of the world!

2008 Nissan Altima vs. 2000 Ford Focus
No, I'm not wondering which I should buy. Yesterday I was on my way home from the doctor and I was driving Donnie's little beater car, the Focus. I was stopped at a red light just minding my own business. There was a pretty lame song on the radio, but I was singing the crap out of it. The AC was on, it was a sunny day...things were going great!
I looked in the rear view and saw this really pretty red Altima headed my way. It took about half a second to realize that the pretty red Altima wasn't slowing down. I was on Bragg Blvd, which is just like, I'm sure, the highway to hell. Too many people and not enough road. There was NO WHERE to go, so I just sat and watched in the rear view mirror. The guy driving the car was freaking out. He was waving his arm and yelling, it was odd to say the least. I kind of shrugged my shoulders up and braced myself for the impending doom.
You'd be really surprised what all goes through your head in the 5 seconds before a pretty red Altima tries to drive over top of you. My last thought was "Holy crap, this is going to hurt!".
Surprisingly, it only hurt a little. The driver got out and ran up to my car to see if I was ok. He was more scared than I was! He said his brakes didn't work. I believe him because I watched him panic as he came barreling towards me. He told me he looked down right before he hit me and he was going 45mph!
So who do you think won? The 2008 Nissan Altima or the 2000 Ford Focus?
His car was SMASHED. My car has a few paint rubs on the bumper.
The moral of this story? Buy American.

This Boring Week
Not much has gone on this week, but I'm tired of looking at the Sky Fort post.
And here's Donnie talking to his mom on the phone. She always says the same thing, so he doesn't actually have to listen, he just hold the phone close enough to his face that she'll hear him say "yup, uh-huh, yup".
Here's a picture of Mar sporting her Cat in the Hat hat. She looks fabulous, don't you think?

The Sky Fort!
Me and Donnie got this great idea to buy the girls a swing set. Sad, I know, our girls didn't even have one. We looked around for months (they're hard to find in the winter time) and finally settled on the "Sky Fort" from Sam's Club. This sucker took a week to put together! It did rain 3 of those days though, so technically speaking it was only 4 days of work. And to make us look even better, Donnie was on night shift so he slept half the day on 2 of those days while I worked alone. Had things gone our way, it would have been 2 days, tops.

It looks so much bigger in real life! When you're in the lookout tower it's scary!
Anyway, it's finished and the girls love it. It has a picnic table, a sand box, a rock climbing wall, a lookout tower WITH a telescope and a clubhouse. What more could a little girl ask for? Here's some pics of the day we got it finished.

Pay It Forward
The first three people to respond to this post will get something made (or if I get really lazy "bought") by me! My choice--for you! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make NO guarantees that you will LIKE what I make (or buy, cause I'm lazy)! (I can only hope)
2. What I create (or buy) will be just for you.
3. It WILL be done this year.
4. You have no CLUE what it’s going to be … it may be cards, a bookmark, something delicious or a complete surprise to you (and me!) … who knows?
5. Most importantly, you MUST offer the same deal on your blog - the first 3 people to comment on your blog get something made by YOU!
